Ahhhhh … Rolls-Royce … luxury at its finest!  But which Rolls-Royce to choose: Should you purchase the Ghost or the Phantom?  What are the differences?

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE ROLLS-ROYCE GHOST AND THE PHANTOM?

Size

Let’s talk size first.  The 2020 Rolls-Royce Ghost is a smaller car if you prefer to own and drive a smaller car.  End to end, it is 212 inches of luxury, although it also whispers of practicality.  The Phantom is larger and more powerful.

Price and Configurations

The 2020 Rolls-Royce Ghost is the more popular of the two with buyers.  Besides being smaller, it has a lower price tag, but still along with a variety of available configurations.  The Phantom is larger and carries a larger price tag, but it is a tad more distinctive and unique – a worthy car of choice for those always seeking a different path.  The Phantom is also available as a drophead coupe or a two-door coupe.  The Ghost is the only vehicle that is currently available with a “Black Badge” configuration.

The Phantom is larger, as we said, and it’s also heavier – not quite as nimble as the smaller Ghost, but it can help you feel safer in its larger body style.  The Phantom also provides optimum comfort in the rear seat.  The Phantom is the oldest, currently in its eighth generation of production, with history dating back to 1925.  If you want to own and experience the finest in vintage Rolls-Royce, you’ll want to purchase the Phantom.

The Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the Rolls-Royce Ghost is $311,000, while the MSRP for the Roll-Royce Phantom is $450,000.  These prices are without the extended wheelbase (EWB), which is optional.  With EWB, the Rolls-Royce Ghost is $345,900 MSRP, while the Rolls-Royce Phantom is $492,425 MSRP.

Performance

The differences between Rolls-Royce Ghost vs. Phantom in performance are a V-12 engine, 6.6 liter (Ghost) and a V-12 engine, 6.8 liter (Phantom).  The Ghost has torque of 605 lb.-ft., while the torque on the Phantom is 664 lb.ft.  Both cars have 563 horsepower, but a “Black Badge” Ghost has elevated horsepower to 603.

No matter whether you choose the 2020 Rolls-Royce Ghost or the Phantom, you will have a car that is rich in comfort, style, performance, and history to enjoy.
