Is There a Rolls-Royce SUV in Your Future?

March 03, 2015

With other luxury car brands such as Porsche, Bentley, and Audi dipping their toes into the SUV pool, people tend to get curious about other brands. This includes Rolls-Royce. Will they decide to take that final step and move into the realm of the SUV as well? And if so, what exactly would a Rolls-Royce SUV look like? It’s already been shown that other luxury brands have figured out how to craft an SUV with power as well as poise, so there’s nothing out there that says Rolls-Royce can’t do the same. The real question is simply – will they?

Late February this year, Rolls-Royce finally did announce that it was interested and currently working on a Rolls-Royce SUV. Whether or not they’ll deign to call their creation an SUV, from what they’ve revealed it’s rather clear that it’s something they’re working on. The exact words of chief executive of Rolls-Royce, Torsten Mueller-Oetvoes, are that they are creating a, “high-bodied Rolls-Royce designed to satisfy the contemporary, highly mobile lifestyles of our discerning clients around the world.”

So as the year moves on, we can look forward to eventually seeing a Rolls-Royce SUV appear on the pages of the car paparazzi, as well as official announcements regarding its progress. Until then, you’ll have to satisfy yourself with a regular Rolls-Royce Phantom or another model. Which, given the sumptuousness that is Rolls-Royce, isn’t a bad thing at all. It will be interesting, however, to see just how the Rolls-Royce SUV will compare to cars such as Bentley’s Bentayga and the Porsche Macan. Then again, it is Rolls-Royce, and given their history of high quality and amazing results, there’s not much room for doubt when it comes to their success.

Some might wonder at Rolls-Royce being among the last luxury car builder to create an SUV (Ferrari will soon be the last on the list), but being in this position certainly gives them the chance to have the last word and make a huge impact.

With Braman Rolls-Royce Palm Beach being voted the #1 Rolls-Royce dealership in the world, you can bet they will be the first to receive this vehicle.
