A Rolls-Royce Dawn Black Badge Special Delivery

Benjamin Treynor Sloss is the Vice President of Engineering at Google – and noted car enthusiast. Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Muller-Otvos recently delivered Sloss with a Rolls-Royce Dawn Black Badge at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

The Importance of Rarity

The Rolls-Royce Dawn Black Badge stands as a remarkable example of the capabilities of the Rolls-Royce Bespoke Collective. Ben and his wife Christine both participate as drivers in endurance races with GT cars, so for their daily drive, they chose a supercar whose luxury could be completely customized.

Sloss spoke about some of his previous experience with the Rolls-Royce. In 2014, “we were looking for a two-door coupe with four useable seats for adults… When we saw the Rolls-Royce Wraith, we loved the style and elegance of the coupe, and when we took it for a test drive we were impressed (really, startled) by how well it accelerated and handled, in addition to the sublime ride quality and materials.”

Bespoke Living

He added that both he and Christine enjoy the rare combination or luxury car and sports performance. Christine went on to buy a Rolls-Royce Dawn as her personal car and drives it every day. When Ben heard about the Dawn Black Badge, he says, “I thought it was the perfect opportunity to commission a very personal Rolls-Royce.”

Ben based his Dawn on the flag of Modena, in Northern Italy. The flag was reinterpreted to fill out the Dawn Black Badge’s paint colors. The deep yellow created for Ben’s choice was named Superflare, and contrasted with a new navy blue called Pikes Peak blue after his love of the timed hill climb.

Endless Effort

The interior saw Navy Blue leathers, Bright Yellow seat piping, the unique Black Badge infinity logo, yellow flashed throughout, a uniquely developed Bright Yellow pinstripe for the Piano Milori Blue wood dashboard, Navy Blue leather Aero Cowling for the rear seats…the list goes on and on. Every effort was put into delivering a Dawn Black Badge to Ben and Christine that had none other like it in the world.
