A More Modern Look for Rolls-Royce

Rolls-Royce Ghost | Braman Rolls-Royce

Quick automotive quiz: what do you imagine when you hear the words “Rolls-Royce”?

Gorgeous, stately sedans? Substantial motor cars that glide over asphalt like a ship over glass-smooth waters? Sure. Luxury and comfort are all but synonymous with this legendary brand. At the same time, the marque is devoted to continual improvement and innovation to ensure optimal experiences for owners. To this end, new models, such as the Rolls-Royce Ghost, will begin to exhibit a more modern appeal

Rolls-Royce has lengthy product cycles – that is, they do not update or refresh their models every year. Or even every other year. Instead, they build timelessness into each motor car. That said, Ghost is debuting the Black Badge edition. The black on black beauty features a modified eight speed automatic transmission for even more gutsy performance. Any redesign beyond this will likely not roll out until 2019 or 2020. Likewise, the Wraith will be available in a Black Badge edition that boosts torque by 51 lb-ft.

To fill the gap left by the retirement of the Phantom Coupe and Drophead Coupe, Rolls-Royce will reveal a new sedan (likely in 2018). This will strike a modern pose that yet manages to retain the stately Phantom appeal. With aluminum space frame architecture and advanced safety and tech elements, the new flagship will be lighter and easier to handle.

No word yet on whether Rolls-Royce will keep the Phantom name or opt to start from a completely new place. All we can say is that we cannot wait to see the results.
