The Recreated John Lennon Rolls-Royce Phantom

With a little help from friends, a bit of the past has now come back to life in a big way. The Rolls-Royce 1965 Phantom V was the car of choice by legendary Beatles singer John Lennon – but it wasn’t exactly your typical car. This particular Rolls-Royce Phantom was covered in glorious, at times almost psychedelic art and bold coloring. The original is currently in a private collection in Canada, so a Beatles fan and businessman Frank Nash decided to recreate it from scratch.

Nash went so far as to recreate the company that developed the original car for John Lennon. After reestablishing J P Fallon in Stratford, Nash found a team of artists and set out to find the perfect Phantom for the job. That’s when the real work took place. For five months, the artists and other team members worked on the car, adding details here and there and making sure the colors were right in order to perfectly match the original 1965 Phantom V that John Lennon owned. The results are truly stunning. From the yellow submarine base to the intricate blue and orange detailing along the sides, there is so much going on with this car it’s not hard to realize that it’s more than a car – it’s a work of art.

Their timing couldn’t be more perfect. This year the 90th anniversary of the Rolls-Royce Phantom actually coincides with John Lennon’s 50th birthday. It’s the perfect way to celebrate a great man and a great car all at once. Nash’s team couldn’t be prouder. One artist, Paul Karslake, is no stranger to high-profile requests, having painted on guitars for the Rolling Stones and a motorcycle for Beyonce, but he claims that this is his proudest career achievement.

As of right now the company hires it out for weddings, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if it made a lengthy tour of some kind when the anniversaries of Lennon and Rolls-Royce come together.

Come down to the Braman Rolls-Royce dealership in Palm Beach, Florida and check out the Rolls-Royce Phantom for yourself.
