THE STARS AT YOUR COMMAND

Rolls-Royce Offers You the Night Sky in Your 2014 Phantom or Wraith

The Starlight Headliner in a Rolls-Royce Wraith

Driving a Rolls-Royce already makes you feel like you have the stars at your command, but now, thanks to the guiding principle of Rolls-Royce co-founder Sir Henry Royce — “Take the best that exists and make it better; when it does not exist, design it.” – you actually can have a night sky full of stars in your Phantom or 2014 Rolls-Royce Wraith with the Starlight Headliner.

The back story is that, at midnight on January 1, 2003, the first Phantom glided off the production line at the Home of Rolls-Royce.  It was the start of a new chapter and to celebrate this momentous occasion, Rolls-Royce created the Celestial Phantom.

The only motor car of its kind, the Celestial Phantom celebrates the beauty of Rolls-Royce craftsmanship. To honour the special point in time when the first Phantom was created, the headlining features hundreds of tiny LEDs meticulously configured to represent the star-filled sky exactly as it was in Goodwood on that fateful night.

The brightness of these Roll Royce-created stars can be adjusted to complement the moods and the needs of the owner. It can be bright enough to support reading and dim enough to deliver subtle glow for ultimate relaxation.  It can also be switched off altogether.

While the Starlight Headliner was created for a one-off vehicle, it is now available through the Bespoke program at Rolls-Royce.  Now technically updated, the Starlight Headliner presents a starry night sky within the cabin, an effect that is achieved with 1,340 individual fibre optic lights hand-woven into the leather roof-lining by craftspeople in the Rolls-Royce Leathershop.
