The Rolls-Royce Ghost is One Quiet Ride

June 23, 2015

Have you ever thought about which car is the quietest in the world? There are many vehicles out there that boast being swift and silent, but when they stack up against one another, which one comes out on top? The Rolls-Royce Ghost is certainly one of the top contenders, but how did it fare when compared to other cars of its class? And perhaps another Rolls-Royce was the quietest on the road. If you’re thinking of a used Rolls-Royce for sale but like things hushed, then you’re already on the right track.

The German magazine AUTO BILD wanted to test their ideas about quiet cars. Luxury cars certainly were at the top tier – they’re built the best with only the highest quality materials and intricate design. They went through 14 current car models – including the Rolls-Royce Ghost – to see what results they found. They measured sound not just in decibels, but also in sones, which is more realistic in the way humans hear. With carefully handled equipment, measurements, engineers on hand, testing not just engine noise but also tire sound and wind noise, and a lot of recording, AUTO BILD came out with some very clear ideas on what the quietest cars were.

While the Rolls-Royce Ghost didn’t make out as the winner, it ranked up rather highly. Not to be unexpected by a Rolls-Royce, of course. Made for silent and enjoyable rides, they cruise over the road with barely a hum, leaving you to enjoy a quiet interior, or simply better sound quality overall while speaking with others or listening to music.

Whether it’s a used Rolls-Royce for sale or a brand new one, you’re still going to get a whisper-quiet ride that you’ll love every single time you roll down the road. And in the end, that’s all you really want.
